Campfires, Easter Eggs, and Zoom: The Future of Fun, Interactive Workshops

This week, I hosted a "Masterclass" (ugh, I can’t stand that word 🤢). In typical ADHD fashion, I waited until the last minute to whip it together. There was something about the way I was planning to deliver it that just didn’t sit right with me.

But then, using my "too many ideas" superpower 💪, I came up with a fresh approach that not only solved the issue but made the experience fun for me and (hopefully) my audience too.

What Wasn’t Working

Let’s talk about what I didn’t love:

  1. The Word “Masterclass”
I hinted at this already, but the word just feels... wrong. The vibe of a “campfire” came up during the session, and now I’m wondering: What if my workshops were more like cozy, engaging campfires? “Join me for the next Campfire” has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

  2. 90-Minute Sessions
The idea of a full 90-minute session sounded great in theory. But who really wants to sit 🪑 for that long unless something truly AMAZING is happening? I realized I wasn’t bringing the heat (pun intended 🔥), and that needed to change.

  3. Zoom Dread
While I love Zoom as a platform, I don’t always love showing up on it. Dressing up, turning on the camera, and facing an audience can feel heavy. And let’s be honest, many of us prefer multitasking in sweats.

All of this felt so energy-zapping ⚡ that I wanted to nap before hosting the session. And I’m the facilitator! Clearly, something had to shift.

The Solution

In true ADHD quick-thinking fashion, I reimagined the entire experience:

  • Shorter Sessions: Future “classes” will be 20-30 minutes max.

  • Dual Platforms: Participants can join live on Zoom or YouTube. Want a faceless option? YouTube’s got you covered. Prefer full interaction? Hop on Zoom.

Rethinking the Replay

Let’s be real: most people don’t watch replays. They sign up, intend to, and then... don’t. To make my replay more engaging, I created a customizable journal 📔 filled with reflective questions and Easter eggs 🥚.

These Easter eggs turn the replay into a mini scavenger hunt. It’s fun, interactive, and makes the experience more memorable. Plus, the journal helps you dig into the topic of managing too many business ideas—something I know a lot about.

The Takeaway

This process reminded me that too many ideas aren’t necessarily a bad thing. They helped me transform what could’ve been a boring, draining Masterclass into something light, creative, and more aligned with my energy.

Grab the replay! It is just a mere 19 minutes and 3 seconds long—and you can even speed it up to 1.5x! 😉 Start hunting those Easter eggs below.
